  • Reduced complexity of a task involving 9-16 million monthly ad server records that are pivoted into cost allocations for 28 regions and five advertising product families by optimizing
    and simplifying the process, then documenting the procedure with flowchart and narrative.
  • Developed a method for annually producing more than 47,000 Excel Report (ODC) files
    used by 21 entities worldwide for quick access to bulk export of general ledger account transactions used for reconciliation and for analysis.
  • Designed and implemented a crosstab keyed summation and presentation Excel template that enables the quick monthly preparation of comparative expense account analysis. Trained
    the India finance team who prepare sixty of these analyses for U.S. Finance each month.
  • Performed extensive verification and fraud detection procedures on monthly publisher payment file generated from advertising server. Resolved all out-of-range issues with Pub Ops
    and the Assistant Controller.
  • Prepared roll forward reconciliation of monthly Media Buys, by vendor, recording U.S.
    accrual, passing to international entities their COGS allocation, and recording currency
    translation effect from accrual versus payment value.
    Oversaw tracking, review, and depreciation of fixed assets, including final adjustments from Construction in Progress to depreciable assets; annual asset review action
    plan; identifying and recording dispositions. Coordinated the annual fixed asset physical
    inventory with I.T.; prepare the worldwide fixed asset roll forward analysis.
  • Managed capital lease asset credit line applications for funding, and subsequent accounting and amortization of forty FMV and buyout leases covering IT assets and major furnishing purchases; track new equipment leases from proposal to lease schedule signing,
    then initiate the capital lease accounting.
  • Managed all stock option grant and exercise activity during IPO preparation, including multiple company-wide issues of new grants, automating grant paperwork preparation,
    tracking and securing the return of signed documentation, recording activity in SVB Cap/MX
    and preparing reports and reconciliations as required.
  • Personally prepared confidential gross pay and bonus accrual analysis and
    adjustments, and maintained the annual compensation expense reconciliation to ADP
    for audit purposes.
  • Created stock option tracking by finding, securing and verifying documentation;
    used Excel was the database; extensively analysed and then converted to eProsper online.
  • Came alongside the owner of a $1.5 million building construction contractor to learn
    how he quoted jobs, using this knowledge to create a project cost estimating and quotation
    Excel template.
  • Completed the clean-up of 1998 to 2006 accounting records and GAAP reporting for a $150MM online advertising media publisher, repairing the QuickBooks to Great Plains
    conversion and refining processes for the new environment.
  • Managed system conversions to QAD Mfg Pro ERP/MRP 4GL software for two technology manufacturers, completing the planning, decision, purchase, implentation, training and go-live cycles on-schedule and within budget. Converted both an existing standard cost system, and created a new standard cost system, including manufacturing routings, financial statement reporting, and integration of manufacturing workflows with the financial general ledger.
  • Bank collateral and sales tax reporting that relied on information extracted off an IBM AS/400 running DB2 required hours of manual workbook effort for this multi-state auto parts distributor. Using Excel and the IBM Showcase ODBC tool enabled development of data exports
    that produced formatted reports for presentation to the bank, and tax form fill-in worksheets
    by pasting the exported data into the workbooks.
  • Acquisition by a European compentitor imposed a requirement to report financial data
    in International Standards format by this U.S. gaming technology manufacturer.  The cost and burden of a conversion of existing accounting systems was avoided by the creation of an Excel workbook that "redirected" a pasted copy of a working trial balance into an International
    financial statement format by the use of sums and lookups againsa simple to maintain
    correlation and lookup table.
  • Assisted the Vice-President of Financial Reporting with the conversion of a 
    Lotus 123 financial statement consolidation and elimination workbook to Excel.  Provided
    direction and training in the use of Excel, resolving incompatabilities in the different workbook
    methodologies, and crafted VBA code used to automate menus, start-up and shut-down
    functions.
